track day insurance cover, best option.

I'm hoping that my sps will be ready for the TA5 day at brands, but I would prefer to get some sort of decent cover for the track day.
my current company do not seem to be over keen on covering the bike for track use full stop.
I want full cover in case of any mishaps, and certainly do not wish to spend any more money on repairs.

what are the options open to me.

thanks
robin

virtually none mate is the honesty of it ...

Redsps 11-Aug-2005 20:30

that does not sound good mate, there must be some sort of cover available.:(

Dibble 11-Aug-2005 20:39

Red,

When I investigated this a while ago the only cover I found was "total loss cover" with a £500 excess, so unless you completely destroy the bike (quite rare) they won't pay out, and it worked out at about £225 for the day ....

if you bin it, push the bike outside the circuit and claim that's were the accident happened..... outside the circuit on the road.

yeah do that and push everyones premium up .. or maybe wait a few weeks, report it stolen and torch it in a field ... honestly, I don't mind paying for the fact you can't afford to lose your bike ....

you can't stomach the risk, stay off the track.*

*Red, this reply is not aimed at you.

Partly a tongue in cheek comment, but, you must know this has been done in the past.

PS: never said I couldn't afford to repair / lose my own bike.

Robin,

I can speak to the guys that did my race insurance if you'd like. They seem to know the score.

Rgds, Rob
