Completely dead!

 Riding back home after attending the Royal Wootton Bassett Ride of Respect, the 996 suddenly lost all power and died; thought of past problems with the ignition/fuel pump relay so tried swapping the spare I carry, to no avail.
Had to get a friend to rescue me with his trailer, and tried replacing all the relays and fuses, but nothing.
Thought of the dreaded ecu faults, hope not!! (Also, the fuel pump does not pressurise when the ignition is switched on and the starter button is dead)
Any thoughts would be very welcome, cheers.

Battery dead, fuse(s) blown, earth fault, ignition switch fault............ Try a bit od simple fault fining with a multimeter after inspecting fuses, loose connections etc. Does the bike have an alarm? sometimes they disable the whole bike.

Gbyte666 had a similar issue on one of our rideouts last year, his 996 just left him dead at the side of the road. I traced the problem to the The fuel sender connections, that take the 12 volts into the the tank to power the pump. Everything else worked OK just no power onto the pump.

This happened to me last year due to Meta 357T playing up.
Is your bike fitted with one?

Reply sent but if your bike is not cranking then my answer wont really help.

If its just the pump then I can help.

multimeter on the fuse box. I believe the top fuse should have 12v perm live.

has sidestand switch been checked. if disconnected the plug is located high up on the LH trellis close to the clutch hose.

both pins should be connected for it to work.

Reg/rec gone AWOL and battery fully drained would be my guess.
