Genuine, racecraft or cheating git?

The scene....

Silverstone first race, first corner.............big incident. Corser has fallen, the bikes a mess, the main contender for his crown is dissapearing off into the sunset.

I had a really good view of this from the inside of Copse..........He lays there, the marshalls come out....i can see his head move, but he just lies there.

The red lights come on race stopped. He gets up and sprints back across the track to the pits........................No kidding.

So, genuinely injured, racecraft, or cheating git?

didnt they do that with jones on the foggy tripple thing? he didnt race again.

chris.p 29-May-2006 19:05

Craig jones went to the restart but complained obout blurred vision (according to Whitham & co on eurosport) etc & Foggy removed him from the grid.

Remember Forret at brands hatch at the bottom of paddock hill, soon as the flag came out he was up & away to the pits at the restart, think it then led to a very nasty accident involving James Whitham on the start finish straight :(

Chris :burn:

Sounds dodgy.

JACKO748S 29-May-2006 20:57

Sounds a bit iffy, but I guess we'll never know...and besides, it was pretty immaterial really as Troy B. spanked his butt in both races anyway LOL!

everton 29-May-2006 22:54

We were on the outside of copse and also witnessed the accident.

Was it Corser's fault - I think not.

So he lay there to ensure the race was red flagged so he could make the restart - cheating - no I don't think so - however he was cheated of completing the race on the bike he started.

Brave - certainly.

I think he made a shrewd judgement call borne of may racing years

Hmmmmmmm, you say it wasnt his fault, but being the rider he is, on the bike hes got, do you think he arrived a bit quicker to the turn than those around him who are use to the tail of the grid?

domski 29-May-2006 23:28

I can reveal the reason behind Corser's crash...

Sabotage!!!!

As I was up at the Chicane I only got to see the incident on the big screen, I suppose it comes under race craft as he got the desired result, un-gentleman like conduct maybe, if it is within the rules then its not cheating. Still he soon dropped it at the chicane without anybody elses help so he didn't really gain from it
