Cooling Question

I've looked at the Pace offering on e-bay and asked questions about physical dimensions a number of times now and I'm not getting a response - so the question is......
Have any other peeps fitted a larger radiator that still allows for mounting of the oil cooler - if so what did you fit up and what were the challenges / solutions ??
Does a 916 type radiator fit ??
cheers

The 916 rad is different. It has no filler cap as it's part of a sealed type system the later bikes use.
I have replaced an 851 rad with one off a ST. They are both curved though.
If you have an earlier flat rad, then the curved one won't fit..... or so I gather.
Do you need extra cooling or is the old rad just knackered? You may be able to get it recored?
The rads are now off the parts list as are many of the 851/888 parts.

I have a 851 flat rad, brand new but it ain't cheap.

Try some local radiator outfits and see if it can be salvaged.

well the old 851 (flat) rad is in really good condition, I guess I'm concerned with whether it will live with my soon to be installed 955 motor (916SP motor with 955 kit, Omega race pistons, Ultimap with 11,500RPM rev limit) with it's state of tune (over the 851) I worry if there'll be enough cooling capacity to avoid cooking the motor.

btw - the cooling capacity was fine with my previous 955 conversion, but that only revved out to 10 - 10,500RPM and used standard 916 Biposto parts to achieve the 955 capacity (crank, rods, heads from 916 + 955 pistons and barrels).

To be honest, i'd try it out and see.
Other than adding an oil cooler to my 853, i've left the cooling system as is, and it's a cooking motor

mmm, Ok I'll give it a whirl at that and see how she goes with the std rad + oil cooler. So long as I keep a close eye on the gauges there's no harm done I suppose !!
cheers
