Vented clutch cover

I'm thinking of getting a carbon vented clutch cover, something like the one in the attached picture.

Can I just do a simple swap over with the OE one I have on at the moment, or is there anything else I need? Bit of a simple question, hope it only needs a simple answer!

Thanks,

Ade.

Nope, that's it - just undo the bolts of one and take it off.

However, the subject of carbon covers has come up a few times, and it's general opinion that these really aren't worth having as they offer very little protection should you suffer a drop, even at standstill.

In my opinion you'd be better off going for a vented full billet cover from somewhere like http://www.TecMoto.co.uk/ for only £99.87!

It's a simple swap, nothing else needed, but if it were me, and this is my personal choice I'd avoid a carbon clutch cover, especially a vented one, simply because if you ever end up chucking your bike down the road, on the r/hand side, say goodbye to your clutch, billet is the way to go.

The only thing is that it may not protect the clutch if you drop it.

I went for this instead having been warned off a carbon cover.

Sorry this one

OK, so carbon is not really the best way to go then!!

I've had a look at the Tecmoto ones and am impressed, but I am worried that the wide open gaping holes let in loads of dirt and other cr@p off the road. Is this something to worry about unnecessarily?

Not really to be honest, your fairing covers the front half anyways...

JHP do a billet vented one, which is far less open

OK, thanks for that. Another one for the Xmas list then!!

You do realise with a vented open cover you'll need a BLING pressure plate too! ;)
