999s clutch

Hi
Does anyone know the thicknesses of the steel plates and the bronze ones please , obviously talking miniman thicknesses .
Also while posting i belive there is a throttle mod to remove the slack/slop in the throttle operation that involves a yamaha part ! any info/part number ?
Bike is a 999s 2004 .
Also workshop manuals - where to buy ?
Any other publications that you would reccommend ?

Sorry but just got my first Duc at 57 (nearly 58 ) years old but after 2 good rides if i have to part with it its a life time ambition done which started with roughly a 1972/3 900ss in couburn and hughes in luton .

Part number 4YR-26240-02-00

The tube is slightly shorter than the Ducati one, so there is a gap between the end of the tube and the bar end. I live with the gap but some have redrilled the clip-on so that the switch gear can be moved to accommodate the gap.

For manuals look here http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp

Ive just purchased a set of sure flex clutch plates(existing plates were blue from heat but not below wear limits ) ,and they have the dished release plate that i presume goes to the back of the plate stack (first plate to go in when reassembling ), the puzzling thing is when i stripped my clutch there wasnt 1 in there , so should there be ?
Also when measuring the plate stack to achieve the 38mm hieght , does that include the dished plate ?
Any advice appreciated .

Yes there should have been a dished plate in your clutch, you say the plates were blue so maybe the dished one got hot enough to flatten out.

Not sure if the 999 Clutch differs from earlier ones, but on the NON Slipper clutch Ducati usually start with Two of the 2mm FLAT steel plates at the back of the clutch followed by a friction plate and then the dished steel plate

The sureflex items are here , the friction material is composite as opposed th brass type material that is in there .
There is defo no dished plate on the items that came out .
Any ideas , has someone just left it out/lost it ?

You might find Shazaam's post on clutch tuning useful; you can find it here:

Skids is right on plate assembly.... on a stock clutch, you fit two 2mm steels first, then a friction, then the convex plate. there's an indicator dot punch on the face of it that should be facing outwards.
