carbon fibre Can you trim/cut carbon fibre? The problem is i have a casoli carbon hugger and a carbon shock guard but i can't use both as the guard will rub on the hugger so if i can trim the guard i will be able to use both, cheers:mad: |
Now what you are saying but is it necessary to have both? My hugger has protected my shock well enough so far. You could try asking RipSnortingV-Twin He is a member and produces the stuff so should know better than most? Try finding his profile in members list and give him an email? |
I got a full carbon fairing on my blade and needed to cut out the headlight. It was dead easy to do just with a coarse sanding disc, then a fine grade to finish it off. Maybe not how it should be done but it worked for me. [Edited on 7-12-2003 by NBs996] |
Belt and braces huh!!!..... ....I'd bin the hugger and keep the shock guard. The cleaner you can get the back looking the better IMO... Tim:frog: |
Yes.It trims easily.The faster the cutter(ie Dremel)the better. |
thanks for the advice, the reason i want to use both is that the bike will be used throughout most of the winter,so i want to protect it as best i can, hence hugger and guard.hugger will probably come off in the summer anyway! |
Senna3 has both on his bike and just trimmed loads off the shock gaurd, his is done for both protection and looks. |
