Wanted - Lightweight rear wheel After much arse seeing this weekend trying to get bargain wheels to fit the Badger I've decided to just ask and see if anyone has a proper wheel to fit him. I've got 2 standard rear and 1 standard front ones that could be used in any deal should the other party so desire. |
Just as a minor detail, can anyone tell me the difference between a standard and a lightweight wheel? Just so I know what I'm looking for! :D |

The thicker part of the spokes are towards the hub, rather than the rim. |
Also interested in what bikes they come from. So I can put a search in to ebay. |

Cheers matey :) |
1 Attachment(s) Here's a comparison pic: Left (black) is the original heavy wheel with the spokes thicker at the rim. Right (bronze) is the later light wheel with the spokes thinner at the rim. HTH. |
Muchly appreciated. |
If you want to get creative, the wheels themselves are all the same, it's just the bearing and the inner spacer that are different between fittings. When I did the fork conversion on my 600/620 hybrid, we knocked the bearings out and replaced the spacer and bearings to take the bigger axle. Much cheaper than buying a new wheel, and you get new bearings! You may be able to hunt around and get a cheaper front off something else, and do the same to make it fit. |
