New clutch plates
 

After 16000mls I think my clutch or plates need replacing while fishing round on the web i found these heard of them before but didn't realise they did ducati stuff

works out at around £82 but from biketorqueracing the same kit is £150 how much would it cost to ship from the states ??

does anybody know the pack thickness of new and wear limit of the clutch pack?
is there a difference from slipper to normal?

I've used Barnett plates in the past, but never in a Ducati because of the price.
They are well renownd tho'. If you order from the states, you'll probably pick up purchase tax over there 6% I think, and then VAT when the get here.

Check that your basket is not worn first though. Fitting new plates to a worn basket will only mean they get worn out quicker.
If the basket is shot, then I'd recommend fitting a 48T basket and plate kit from STM :D ...................;)

Dont forget the STM Lovelyjubble pressure plate to go with it Neil :lol::lol:. Worked a treat on the ride out Sunday,no grabing, smooth as silk. 4D

The plate is from SpeedyMoto 4D. Not even the Italians have come up with something that "bling" yet :cool:

i used to have carbon plates in my 996 fitted with a Dp slipper,
from my experience the plates were terrible on the road as there was no slippage untill the clutch was hot ,made setting off a real pain and juddered like bugger,
this then led to realy rapid wear of the outer clutch basket ,1200km and it was shot.
Ive now got the 48 tooth basket from Stm fitted with the sintered drive plates and have no problems.....
i hear that the new 2005 bikes (749r 999) have a light alloy basket as standard, might be also worth a look?

Nelly fitted an STM 48T clutch basket & plate set to my 996s & I'm well impressed! - No nasty graunching and smmooooth..

Can i use the STM parts with my slipper clutch centre. I have a 2002 748R that could do with the clutch replacing?

Hi Keith, Yep. The 48T basket can be used as an upgrade to any Ducati dry clutch

Some times the graunching sound - especially when setting off - is because some of the plates are inserted the wrong way around.
There is a dot on the steel plates - but don't recall if they should face up or inwards!
Had a Sigma Slipper clutch which was juts fine thank you.
You need to stack them correctly too - your local dealership can advise - and the last I had was a replacement pack from an 748r on a bip and all is well.

To get the correct depth - you'll need a verner caliper too - www.screwfix.com
