1199S Tricolore Insurance

HI All,
Has anyone stuggled to get insurance on the 1199 Tricolore? Ive got 10 years NCB, clean licence, live in a low risk area, good history of 1000cc + bikes, never had trouble with insuring my 1098S but is seems that the value of the Tricolore is causing a few problems.
Ducati Insurance came back with a quote of over £1k and a stipulation that a tracker must be fitted, MotorCycle Direct ( current insurers of on the 1098S ) won't quote and Im waiting for Carole Nash to get back to me.

Any recommendations gratefully received and followed up!

Thanks,
Ben

If the issue is the value of the bike at £23,500 you could try insuring its value at £20,000.

I have been told that £20,000 is a limit for a lot of insurers.

Just don't plan on getting the full value back in the event of a claim!

I think if you "under insure" then you're in deep trouble in the unfortunate event of a claim... not worth the hassle for a few hundred quid in the grand scheme of things in my opinion.

Try E-Bike
Panigale "S", declaring Termi's too, Just over £470 fully comp.

Might be worth giving E-Bike a go,
I had a quote for an "S", declaring Termi cans/5%+ power gain
was @£470 fully comp.

You only get paid out the market value. For a brand new bike with zero miles that's gonna be what it will cost to get another brand new bike.

Get some age on it and some miles and you'll get what it will cost to replace with similar age and miles.

I'm not up on theese new fangled bikes, is it a single seater? sometimes if you tell the insurer no pillions ever carried then the quote comes down.

Got the asked question about pillions a while ago when insuring the 998, it's mono so deffo no pillions, that knocked some £££ off the quote.

Worth asking if ther are any other "extras" on the policy you are happy to do without, breakdown cover, european cover, legal, etc, etc.

Insuring a brand new, new model, megabike listing at North of £20,000 is never gonna be cheap, thats the price you pay for the latest and greatest:)

Ray.

E-Bike won't insure a bike over £20k, as seems to be the case with most Insurance companies. Ho hum.

Did you try Ducati Insurance?
You also get a discount if you're a full (paid) Club member!

After reading on various forums it appears that the majority are going with MCE who are giving the best quotes. Ducati Insurance are good but they seem to have increased their prices much more than most other insurers recently.

Try Adelaide Insurance in Belfast, they have won the Which best insurer a few times and are good to deal with. They guarantee to beat your cheapest quote by 10%.

I got my 848 insured through them for around £140 protected with legal and full breakdown, £400 excess.

Doing comaprison searches the Bike Insurer was previously the cheapest using MCE and Bike Devil ( also MCE but with no excess at all)

Thanks for the suggestions. Ducati Insurance quoted £1071 and stipulated that a tracker has be fitted.

I'll keep you posted.
