Ohlins steering damper on 848 Hello. Not posted for a while (last Ducati I had was the 996R I sold to rattler :)) Am now considering an 848 however am quite a big fan of steering dampers due to several brown trouser moments over the years (had one on my GSXR at the weekend!). I know the 848 doesn't have the yoke mounting points like the 1098 so have seen fitting kits from Ducati (not Ohlins though) and Harris and Ohlins themselves. Does anyone have any experience of the latter 2 kits and ideally, some pics pls? Last question for now... is this one of the above or a custom job? Cheers :-) |
Maybe Dementor can tell you whats available and who has fitted some, sounds like he has fitted most after market bits to his 848 Evo so may have one himself. |
Just seen his slide show he has a GPR one http://www.dementor.org.uk/848%20Project.htm |
thank you however I do want an ohlins one :-) |

Here you Go M8 https://www.harris-performance.com/c...7#aOHL_2dSD197 The GPR is worth considering though IMHO |
steering damper I have just fitted the Dan Kyle kit from America, the fit and finish is excellent, and looks far better than any other solutions ive seen in my opinion. The Ohlins one that just bolts around the top of the fork leg looks **** and obviously has consequences if you want to alter the fork geometry! I just bought the bracket but he will do the full kit, but as i all ready had the actual damper from my 748r, it is a straight fit with the Dan Kyle kit! Will post some pics of it fitted when im home at the weekend! Chris |
ohlins The one in your pic above is the actual kit from Ohlins themselves, this is the Kyle kit, not the best pics but as i said i wil post pics of mine at the weekend. http://www.shop.kyleusa.com/product....7&productId=91 |
thanks. found these too :) |
Are you sure.................:) |
