Lower Timing Belt Cover Removal

I'm trying to remove the lower timing belt cover on my 996 (engine still in the frame) and even when I move all the wiring loom and connectors etc out of the way the best i can, i still cant seem to wiggle the timing cover off and out.

Looking at the situation, it seems that the offending item is the oil pressure switch.

Is this something that you normally remove to make things easier when taking this cover off?

Cheers
Simon

Sussed it!

You need to lift it up a bit and outwards as there's a tiny half moon cut out in the cover that just clears the top of the switch. Well thats what worked for me anyway :)

If that's done by design they must have been working to some close tolernaces

It is really tight. Became a problem when they switched to the newer style pressure switch. The old one was much lower.
I take the switch off, plug the hole and refit when finished. Makes life much easier.
