Stunning SP4 on eBay (US)

This looks a real beauty. Under 2500 miles too! If only it was UK eh? (Another bike with no number on the board though. I wonder why this is? Did they sometimes leave the factory like this?)

Looks very nice indeed.

My SP is the same with no Number 1 on the side

I can't believe what are US cousins are willing to pay for these bikes? I know the current exchange rate makes it seem less than it for European comparisons, but $15,000 is a lot of dosh.

monstermob 998 02-Mar-2005 19:53

around £7900.00??? whats the going rate in UK?

weeveetwin 02-Mar-2005 19:58

It's believed that there are only five of these bikes in the US - so if you want one you've little choice but to cough up the cash. There are four days left on the bidding too, so it has time to climb even higher.

(An SP4 in that condition with similar low miles would also fetch over £7000 in the UK).

Is it? Works out to less than £8K at current exchange rates. I don't know about SP prices, but Jasper reckons on another thread that he's been offered 12K for his SP5 on a couple of occasions.

Anyway, whatever the cost would you dare ride it if you had the wherewithall to buy it and get it shipped across here. I mean a 1992 bike that only had 290 miles on it when the guy bought it 4 years later in 96 - whoa 75 miles a year :o:o:o

It's obviously lived a much harder life since then because the seller has done 2100 miles since 1996 - that's a massive 230 miles a year - obviously knackered then.

I wouldn't dare buy a bike like that. I'd do that sort of mileage on it on a Sunday ride out and it would be covered in dead flies. Before you knew it i'd have done 20,000 miles on it, a few trackdays and probably lobbed it.

Didn't Jasper once write that his bike is not for sale at any price? I feel the same way about my SP. I'm keepin' it! Go on, make me an offer..!

Jools - Have a look at this RC30 for sale in Yorkshire. No miles at all on the clock, and he's asking £20,000! Just riding it a few miles home would cost you £5,000 in depreciation!

My SP is priceless too Weevee!
He may ask £20k for the RC but it's only worth what someone is prepared to pay. If he's selling it for someone or has bought it himself I would think he'll have a mark up on it, being a dealer. It looks very nice, but is not in the same league as the SP's. IMHO The SP4 on e-bay is a steal in comparison.
I have also seen SP4s without a number on the board, so they must have turned them out like that at some point.

Where's it gone? Auction ended early! Hmm. Maybe got cold feet, eh..?
