Milan Bike Show 2013 anyone?

Never been to Europe's best bike show (?) so obviously, well overdue - even if I have been to Milan before (blush)

Looking at advanced options already for the event on the 2nd weekend in November, 7 to 10th (Thursday through Sunday).

Edinburgh flights (my preferred airport, so far) for the 8th to 10th £60 return, quite impressive.

Show website here:

http://www.eicma.it/en/

Strong hints about Ducati announcements on the 2014 bike line up at the show and quick check on Easyjet just showed the prices at £50 return!!!
Fri out 07.05 / Sun return 23.00

Time to get serious about this I think, hotel recommendations welcome & possibility of Ducati factory visit and/or other places too

Oh yes, good travel sites needed too please, here's a new site to me I've been using:

http://www.travelzoo.com/uk/

I've been advised the show ISNT a place to get a bargain - more akin to a Trade show but with everything under the Sun but, very little to actually purchase.

Any / All advise welcome.

Thanks - Frank

I was looking at the flights for us Southerners... Ryanair from Stansted to Milan is £24 one-way for a day flight (Thurs 7th Nov) so I may be up for a day trip!

I will need to check out transport links the other side so if anyone fancies it just reply to this post.

I went a few years ago for the day, and the total cost including lunch was around £120.

I got the bus from the airport to the venue.

And I didn't pre book any of it!!!

Thanks for the Info...

Oh well decision made for this little party of two!

Fly out early Fri 8th arrive, Milan 10.30 - Return Sun, land back in Edinburgh 22.30 £135, for both of us all in with Ryanair. Not too bad. Thought I'd better book NOW as prices are rising, it cost £40 MORE than the last time I looked already :hissy:

Doing the 'Show' Friday on landing might be an option instead of waiting for the weekend as the EICMA is open until 10pm, on that day!

Hotels and events to organise but thats the fun bit ;-)

Ciao - Franko

Sorry saving my pennies for a factory trip.

Have fun.

Only a week to go - EXCITED!!!

As above, going to the show on Friday so we can bike hop until 10pm

Ideas on food, travel and filling a weekend still welcome!

I have seen an Event on at Monza for Sunday but cant really tell what it is - would like to see the circuit anyways - petrolhead etc.

Thanks in advance...
