Usual re-newel issue – but all OK in the end
 

Situation:

Insurance re-newel came through this morning at £353, £600 excess with Zenith. Aged 39, but look much younger, fully comp on a 749R, declared Termig, with 6 years protected NCD, 6 points for speeding all won at the same time in court as it was over a 100mph.

Phoned around 3 or 4 companies including Insure My Ducati and Ducati Insurance and got quotes from £300 to £400.

Phoned my broker to tell him the quotes I’d had and he went to work.

Result :

My re-newel dropped from £353 to £278, £300 excess with NIG, insurance as before PLUS 3rd party on other bikes which I did not have before.

Gripe :

OK, we all wish that our re-newels would come through at the best possible price, BUT, we know they don’t. I really don’t mind spending 1 hour per year to phone around, play the game and save myself £75 and find a better policy
