Yippeee no rockers.

Bike is in for it's first big service. Had a call today, no rocker wear and only two shims replaced.
Clutch worn mind you, so need new basket and plates but so relieved that I don't need any rockers.

Nice one! I remember the service bill for mine when Mitch found the knackered rockers - it ran to over £1300 I think!!!

How many miles Col?
My ST4S has done 34,000 now and has never needed a rocker-last service when they checked ther reckonned the rockers and cams were like new-I guess I am just lucky-broken bones and dislocated joints notwithstanding.................

Only 12,000 but I beleive it can happen at this mileage. I was also told things were like new. Which is good as I can keep the outside clean but can't do a lot about what goes on in the engine.

I don't really stick to one brand Kev. I've used Shell, Motul and have Castrol in there at the moment.
I always warm it up from cold.

My 996s had 17,000 miles when I sold it and only had a new battery, front sprocket, front discs and rear brake caliper. I was advised at one service the clutch basket was worn but never changed it.

Pity my 1098s was not so good:( new rockers and cams at 8000!

Picked the bike up today. Big improvement, it seems so much smoother at low revs. Not sure if it's down to the carbon plates that have been fitted or just down to the fact that they are new and adjusted correctly.
Full marks to Glenn at Parkinsons of Colchester. He did a top job and seems a nice chap to boot. Didn't seem to mind spending time on the phone talking about the service and how nice my bike is (always nice to hear)
