Busted nsr indicator Well Ive just taxed the old ST2 for the summer so Id thought Id drop by and catch up on the latest chatter. Anyway whilst walking past the bike in the garage I bumped the indicator and snapped the plastic stalk part. Does anyone know the price of a replacment or is this a time to upgrade to some niffty aftermarket types ? Cheers |
booger, i did exactly the same a few months back but had a spare that came with the bike for when the pannier frame is taken off. However, that all said I would happily upgrade to something prettier/smaller and brighter. I think there is a post discussing using LED indicators. If you do I am interested in what you come up with and how you acheived it. |
If they're the same as on the ST3 I think it was about £12.50 when I had to get a replacement. They're actually the same as on my winter hack a BMW 650 GS, so whichever is nearer/easier to source. They aren't the prettiest that is for sure! PBPB |

get the bendy ones! I believe my ST2 current spouts KTM bendy indicators, almost the same shape but designer to give when forced without breaking. They look very similar to the ducati ones. I quite like the idea of LED indicators and am tempted to try a set of these: http://motrax.co.uk/index.php?mod=product&id_prd=114 They have a tip at the end to try and aid side and opposite visability..... I'm just too tight to pay the £30 rrp  Cheers - Frank PS - I think I'm right in saying that one side of a bikes system can be changed to LED without having to fit a resistor (or whatever it is !!!) |
3 Attachment(s) I got some LED indicators for the Hyper as the oem ones are a bit pants. These ones came from Pyramid as they had the best design/shape. They came with free resistor load balance things too, and were £25. Quite pricey really for what they are but they are nice black anodised alu and bloody bright! |
Last time a bought a ducati indicator it was a few p over £8, but likely a bit more now. Certainly not anything to cry about. I've now got some of those like what Frank points to. They're very good quality and look like they belong on the bike rather than aftermarket tat. Bright and visible, even from an angle, and they flash to the right tune. Didn't pay £30 for them tho! |
If you want OEM Ducati ones, get them from Heine Gerick, as they sell them for about 2.95 inc bulb! I bought one a couple of years ago so hopefully they still do them. |
Just use super glue. I have re glued 2 of mine when they have popped off.... |
