Learning the tracks - weird question
 

this will sound a daft question, is there a game like MotoGP 14, but that has the british tracks?
I remember Toca Touring Car had them all on the original playstation but it was car racing.

i don't know anything about computer games but i like on bike cam footage from youtube- there's dd footage from most tracks on there

Depends what you are trying to achieve - a computer game will tell you which way the corners go but it won't teach you the best lines, braking points and so on.

If you really want to learn the tracks you'll be better off with a dedicated track guide like the one from MCN (pricey) or maybe try the free one from Visordown.

Just the way the corners go basically, what comes next.

I find it really hard to remember the way the track goes on videos and the track guides.

Alas IMO the only way is to put the real track time in. Eventually as sad as it may seem you not only know all the turns, bumps, tarmac changes, different lines, braking points and gear changes. You can do it in your sleep. :)

yeah, just i remembered Toca Touring Cars on the playstation and it was a good way to learn the tracks, knowing where they went. just wondered if there was something similar you could get now.

I used to try to do that but in reality it was little to no use for me. Once you've been round the real track 3 times at most you know where it goes and I always find the real circuit seems like a totally different place to the game circuits.

can you join Class A if your a novice? or do you have to start in Class B?

Class A is open to everyone including Novices, only a few have gone that route in recent years, back in 2005 when DD was started and there was only one class many of the Novices were on 620s

Agree with pie man, I've been racing for 5yrs, can go round a dozen tracks with my eyes closed but know all my braking points and lines on only 2 maybe 3.
There's no substitute for being out there. Look for bargain last minute midweek track days or just turn up, 9/10 times you'll get on for an afternoon as someone always drops out.
