clutch brake fluid reservoir covers

Hi
I just called the local dealer to get a price to replace the covers for the reservoirs as they are looking a bit unhealthy/melted.

dealer says you cant buy the cover on its own you have to buy the whole reservoir unit which is about £50 a go per side plus labour to fit, and bleed etc.

anyone else heard the same, or is ebay the only place to go now to get some of the titanium ones, but they are £25/ side. Still a lot of money to replace some perishing rubber

TIA

Derek

749er, I was told the same thing, the covers cannot be sold separately from the reservoirs.
Probably the single most stupid thing I have ever heard when trying to buy parts.
I've got spare covers now, which I can get re-painted. This will be an ongoing process though, the covers never stay looking good for very long.

have you tried brembo themselves (assuming they are brembo) as i needed a seal for my old coffin style cylinders, it came with a new lid and cost the pricely sum of £6 ish.

D'oh. Good idea, Tom.
Mind you, I like having spare levers/reservoirs/etc. You never know what's around the corner ... ;)

You need

I had same problem with paint peeling off edge of old covers. You'll need to use the rubber seal from inside the old cover.
