WDW on an 1199 / Tank Distance

I've just ridden to Misano and back again for WDW2012 with the most inspiring rider ever.

A 73 year old Scottish gentleman called Norrie, who only 3 weeks ago went and bought a new Panigale!

Poor 'Norri San' ran out of gas after around 120miles of "fast" riding but never got around to discovering if there is a 'miles remaining' display on the bike???

If anyone can help with the display modes or knows the full tank mileage - It'd be appreciated....

Here is a pic of our manky bikes on the ferry over the Rhine:

Awesome tale for you both, lets have some more info and pics from your journey...be safe.

I'd have to junk that number plate carrier and get it closer to the tail unit

I wasnt keen about the plate mount either, esp when at some angles it obscured the rear indicators. but it stayed together better than the add on GB bracket that got hammered when the poor Panigale was ridden down a GOAT track!

I recently got back from Croatia on my 1199, the best i got was 109 before the light came on, and the most i have done on reserve is 16 miles.

Is it sad to say i love to see these bikes ridden everywhere and being filthy?!

Iconic944ss 01-Jul-2012 23:20

Thanks KingFixer, we reckoned on 100miles tank range from full (cruising at 90ish on unlimited autobahns - obviously ;) ) and figure poor Norrie rode too far into reserve, 20miles and he then paid the price having an empty fuel tank for company.

Looks like an excellent trip. There isn't a 'distance remaining' display available as far as I am aware but the display should have come up with the reserve trip distance once it actually went into reserve? Perhaps Norrie removed this by pressing the A/B button and cycling back through the options?

bradders 02-Jul-2012 09:51

I assume there is a bigger tank option at an extortionate price for Ducati

These bikes are all similar and you should really plan on filling up every 70-80 miles and then panicking:o
