999r exhausts !!

due to a bit of a thead hijack i thought id but this up myself..

thanks for the good points JPM and andyb

has anyone else modded an old sytem to fit the new swingarm ??

andyb im on a standard 04 bike with just the open system and ecu fitted with a set of air filters and i got a max of 134ps at the rear wheel........... not as much is i had hoped i can tell you.
and it suffers a realy bad 4-5000rpm flatspot/misfire!!

nathanhu 11-Nov-2005 14:16

the next thing must be a pcIII and dyno time

which ecu are you using ?
and could i use the standard one with the pcIII with the same effect(my ecu for the 57mm system is for a 999s and is keylocked)

JPM 11-Nov-2005 14:18

I'm getting around 142(ish) I think from mine with a PCIII and assymetric system, think Andy's getting 148 (from memory) with his 57mm system and PCIII

nathanhu 11-Nov-2005 14:19

hmm the fairing is not a drama as its only on the track at the mo i just need to get it running right as the missfire/power hole ist killing my mid corner confidence and part throttle fueling... it feels like both cylinders are tying to fire at the same time !!!

nathanhu 11-Nov-2005 14:21

JPM are you using the race ecu or the road one ?

and did yours run as pants as mine

JPM 11-Nov-2005 14:27

Mine was pants because of coil problems, nothing more, I'm on the race ECU that came with the pipes, but the PCIII will override that I am guessing

nathanhu 11-Nov-2005 14:36

yep i know those problems ... i had mine changed from new as part off the deal
has anyone got there hands on the new style 57mm system yet?
it would be interesting to see which pipes have been modified or is the complete pipework different?

andyb 11-Nov-2005 15:40

As allways, JHP have done the mod.............

PC111 can run with any cpu and be set up..........and much better than any std or "race" cpu!

I have to say, mine pulls like a train, no hiccups or owt! Thats why i am confindent in an out and out drag race, particularly out from a real slow corner, (for what its worth) against all the so called big jap bikes!

nathanhu 11-Nov-2005 16:27

andy, is your bike a 03 or a 04?
and is your system the one for your bike ie an early exhaust on a later bike?

i get this too around 5k! it really is pants, end up having to try and ride it like an inline four on track losing a lot of the twins advantages!
Had my ECU 'checked' and its supposed to be ok.
got PCIII to go on over winter:smug:
