As we all love 888's, we probably like a lot of early 90's superbikes, yes?
Anyway, I do. Would love an RC30 but that's silly money. OWO1 would be nice...but i've always loved these too. Looking for a mint one now, and the best bit is the prices for these are 1000 to 1500. What is it? Look at the picture!!

Yeah I know, been looking a while! Plenty of nine-million owner sheds with starship mileage about. Just gotta track down that elusive one that's been in storage fro 10 years...

I couldn't get insurance til I was 20 (from memory), so I picked it up on my 20th birthday after part exing my yummy Lucky Strike RGV 250... oh the memories.

I didn't have it long, I chopped it in for a Ducati ;)

...which I rode into the back of a Volvo, and then decided to go racing :lol:

That's when men were men, and not every other business man owned an R1 with £2000 worth of leathers. I remember bikes being all about passion and a way of life, as opposed to a Sunday afternoon hobby.

Nothing like a bit of dewy eyed nostalgia. Thing is, I lusted after these bikes back then, but I was only 19 and had no money. Last couple of years i've had, and raced, the latest kit, but now i'm solvent I can afford these objects of early passion to satisfy my inner child! Back then I rode all year round, had no car, bikes weren't popular with the suits, and it was a cool way of life. I was lucky (unlucky) enough to be knocked off my KMX 200 though when I was 22, and got about 8 grand as an insurance payout. Straight to the shops, brand new YZF750. Bliss :D:D:D

I used to live on my bikes, from 1992 when I did 15,000 miles on my DT50, through to 1997 when I broke myself on a Volvo and went racing, I rode my bikes everyday. Even though I passed my car test at 17, I still rode me bike rain or shine.

Having said that, I'd rather drive a nice car nowadays, but then I am knocking on a bit and will be 30 this year :o

I'm amazed that I'm not dead really, so me of the stupid things I used to do.

Kids have it good these days, some of the crap I had to ride around on, pah. Maybe that's why I'm half good on a decent bike. Years of keeping up with RGV's when I had a 350LC, and whooping the GSXR-WT's on my 600 Bandit.

Thats the one! Had my YZF 6 years, and when it had 55000 on the clock, I removed the lights and took it racing. It was just getting too bad. 100 mph everywhere, even going to work, something was gonna give. Lost a couple of mates too. It wasn't a Volvo that made me go race though, it was the long arm of the law with an 18 month ban (144.30 mph in a 60, oops, heheh. 900 quid fine too, ouch!) I won my first novice race too, I reckon I had the same grounding as you, keeping up with big bikes on ropey old smokers.

Anyway don't ride on the road much now, the track is the way to go, like you. What do you race and where??
