Desmodonne International - a network for Ducati women

Desmodonne International is an independent worldwide network for women with passion for Ducati. It is founded by 5 female presidents in the DOC-system (Desmo Owners Club), managed by the chairman and president Vibeche Tveit in Norway. With closeness to the DOCs located in all continents, the network will be a supporting channel to give the clubs knowledge on how they can facilitate their clubs and events in a way that attract women. With a worldwide administrative team (A-team) of 30 experienced women from the DOCs and appreciated support from Ducati, Desmodonne International will keep a well-known profile.

Purpose and goal

The purpose of Desmodonne International is to increase the female share of the Red Planet of social reasons. By gathering experienced riders and fans from all over the world we create a valuable network for women, a platform of experience and knowledge of Ducati. This unique type of mentoring can make the steps between gaining an interest in the sport and becoming a knowledgeable and skilled participant, shorter. By showing the spirit and friendship within the DOCs and this worldwide network, we hope to facilitate a bigger social dimension thought new friendships and contacts. With this clubs valuable knowledge of local culture and wishes, Desmodonne International can support the DOCs in facilitating the events to attract more participants. We will assist individuals in finding a local DOC if required.

Facebook and www.desmodonne.com is our main-arenas, and the FB-sites will be an adequate informationchannel about the Red Planet. The site will reflect the cross-section of the Ducatiworld. By factual publications and members posting stories and pictures of big smiles, bikes and events, we will give the world so precious a face and a voice on women’s behalf.

Women supporting women

Desmodonne International is run for and by women. Economic- and cultural conditions for women varies. Our goal is to make Desmodonne International known all over the world where Ducati is represented by dealers or DOCs. Hopefully we will make a difference for individuals within the motorcycle-environment but also for women who never will have the opportunity to ride.

This nettwork shall be an arena for dreams no matter what the reality is. Desmodonne International has established a trustfund where a share of the income from the clubs profiling article will be used to support projects for growth among women in less privileged situations. On behalf of the A-team, the board will appoint a receiver for a symbolic amount once a year.
