Diablo Corsa\'s or Super Corsa\'s ??? Bike is 749s used on road + trackdays (inter/fast group). How much extra grip do you get from Super Corsa's (in the dry)? Do the Super Corsa's warm up quickly/ enough on the road? How bad are the Super Corsa's in the wet on the road, compared to standard Corsa's? How much longer will the standard Corsa's last over the supers? What's the life expectancy of each? Thanks in advance. |
My opinions only, not scientific! Super corsa are awesome on track, nowt better except maybe Racetecs. Good on the road as long as it's warm. Panty poo in the wet/cold. They are usable as all weather road tyres but tbh will hold you back more often than not if you do a lot of road miles. Also will not last awfully long. If you do more road than track I'd stick with the Diablos. |
A good compramise is diablo`s for the road & a pair of just part worn race tyres for your track day, only cost you £10-15 to get your local friendly dealer to swop tyres for you. And before people start going on about not using part worn race tyres etc etc, it aint a problem, did a whole season on a F400 using ex Aprilla250 cup tyres, no problems, Cadwell before the chicane in 1min 42`s on a CBR400 with a stock engine:frog: Chris:burn: |
Dunno if this helps .... It's from a Buell site ... and it's quite frank http://www.bike-pix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6455 |
He is a really good guy ... has kept coming back with advice ... even tho no vested interest . I hope he isn't ****ed of that "the Knowledge" is passed on |
My comparison for trackdays was a mate who runs on Diablo Corsa's & I have Supercorsa's (both R1's). He was sliding all over at the end of the trackday at a recent Donnington day. I'm sure the Diablo's will be better on the roads though as mine takes a while to warm up, especially these winter (summer???) days. Andy |
