Rennsport SC3s

A "mate" has offered to me a part worn pair of SC3s are these harder than Supercorsa road?

He's ended up on his **** at least once using em on an R1. Is he being generous
or trying to kill me??!!

Ray

ray
sc1 soft sc2 medium sc3 hard
they would take a long time to warm up as well as being a hard compound.

You`ll be ok as long as you use them with warmers, as tyre man says they take a while to warm up properly as much as five laps which with some trackdays can be a large portion of the session.

dickieducati 20-Apr-2004 09:05

while were on the subject how does a medium compound compare to a street?

Mike Davis 21-Apr-2004 22:43

Its softer as far as compounds go, but the street is designed for different parameters to an sc2, ie: running temp, sidewall construction etc.

Rattler 21-Apr-2004 22:46

If these are for the track - don\'t use them!!

OK for road, but I'd use SC2's on the track - probably with a SC1 front.

I can see why he's been on the floor with them now, his tyre warmers are shot and he doesn't use they now.

I might be tempted for road use only. Maybe I need some spare wheels.

Thanks,

Ray

Not really advisable on the road either Ray. you`ll never get them up to the temp they are designed to run at on the road and if you get caught out and the weather turns wet they`ll get awfully slippy.

Are you sure this guy is a 'mate' Ray??
