2004 749 Termi Kits Jeeeez On for a rant but when I bought my bike last October the story was that there was a small snag with the fuelling and that the ECUs were being reprogrammed. 7 months later I take the plunge and buy one. Phoned today to check when it will arrive to be told..... yes you guessed there are still fuelling issues. Anyone with a 2004 749 (base model) that has a Termi that runs fine? Anyone else still waiting, if so how long and do you have a new landing date? cheers |
Who is your dealer, I would check his facts. I have a 749S that is an 04 model purchased last October. I was led around the garden path a bit re Termis but eventually established that the Termi for the base model was avaliable, and I have seen bikes with them fitted. The issue around the ECU fuelling related to 2004 s models, I ordered and paid for mine when I got the bike. After DUK getting involved the dealer managed to fit my Termis and new correctly mapped ECU last month. |
Buy the Termi's and forget the DP ECU. Buy yourself a PC3 and get it custom mapped on a dyno, should cost about the same a DP ECU. It cost me about £100 to get the PC3 custom mapped for my 999s and the bike runs a DP ECU aswell - I learnt the hard way !! The mapping on DP ECU's isn't perfect. |

Is it possible to buy the Termis less the ecu? Aternatively I am thinking of buying a decat pipe, a second hand silencer which I will gut the cat out of, and then running a custom mapped chip. I have this set up on my car but was trying to keep the bike simple:saint: cheers |
Ive said it so many times. For the cost of that horrible assymetric system, get yerself a full balanced 54 or 57mm jobbie. Pc111, dyno run, and away you go! |

v2 pete is running my old termi can with de-cat down pipe, race filters..it runs fine, lots more power on tap, sounds the dogs, happy days. |
Everything about Ducati is about money. I ran the open can for a while. If Ducati noise is your thing, i dont think the sound of the open decatted pipe jobbie is a patch on the sound of my 57mm. Its not particularly loud, just a distinctive 999 bark. |
i had a 999s with a 57mm system on annd now ive got a 999r with the race system fitted .......the new one sounds better in my opinion..... not that it counts:lol: |
guess were all different, plus you kept breaking yours... |
