Wanted - 749

I'm looking for a cheap 749 to go racing with - anyone know of one?

An S is better, an R might be too pricey though.

TIA
Tim

Are you racing in the Thunderbike series?

Nope, I'll be running this alongside Couchcommando on his 749 in the 600 Endurance series in 2010.

They're likely to be the only Ducatis running in the class and we're expecting great things....

Its a shame we can't run current Ducati models, but we'll be doing it for the marque!!! ;)

You're heading in the right direction, 996.............749............keep going and you'll get there eventually...................848.

The series would welcome some readymade "elder statesmen":D

Ray.

I think the trouble with the 848 series is that there's nowhere to realistically use a race 848 outside of this series. So no strong aftermarket or resale value etc, it does qualify for SoT etc, but you can ride a 1098 or 1198 in that, so would be underpowered.

It doesn't qualify for a 600 class, so it realistically has to run in its own series. Perhaps the series is aimed at Dealer supported entries and not individual punters? But are there 30+ dealers who can afford the resources to run a 848 in a big series? Perhaps there is.

Hence the reason for myself and Couch getting a non-current 749 Ducati model to run in a 600 series. The big-boys 1000+ series is mighty pricey and very competitive, so a 1198S is a bit too big budget!!! ;) - although Tony does have one of those lying around !!
