Possible stolen Duke - K277 EFS

We've had an email in regarding this bike (red, 900 or maybe 800 series) that has been left on a pavement in Twickenham without any apparant owner.

The reported says it's starting to rust (!) and is concerned that someones P&J may have been taken and dumped but as yet undiscovered. The police have checked their records and they say it has not been reported stolen.

If anyone knows something of it or even knows who the owner might be, drop an email to webteam and we'll pass the details through to the chap who reported it.

From gov uk licensing website for K277 EFS:

Date of Liability 01 01 2006
Date of First Registration 08 03 1993
Year of Manufacture 1992
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 904CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour RED

so it's a 900

Don't the pleebs know whose it is from their VOSA records? I thought they could find out who the owner was in seconds. I bet they would if it was speeding and not stood on a pavement :frog:

But also it doesn't appear to be licensed or SORN.

So, the advert from DVLA where they say "We don't have to look here (under streetlamp), we don't even have to look here (hidden in garage)....." is a load of tosh. Just leave your bike in full view, have the bobby come round and look at it, nd don't even bother with a tax disc cos they won't find you in broad daylight.

Further update: it's a 900 Superlight with a leaking clutch fluid so the council will remove it soon I guess.....

If the council take it,confiscate it etc.etc and noone claims it.Is there any way of persuading them to advertise it here before the usual disposal methods go into action?Be a shame for a bike to goto auction be bought for peanuts and then put up on ebay.Just a thought:(

And it should be red, with a white frame and black wheels...

The bike details I got from dvla vehicle search - so why do you say 1992?
If its a superlight then it'll probably be a mk1 (1993) and two piece wheels, carbon front mudguard etcetera.
Can anyone get round there and snap a picture - before the council.
If you really want it sorting just phone the bobies and say you've seen an untaxed bike parked up - then wait for the sirens and lights to come crashing down on it.
Not black wheels - if it's original.
Can anyone get round to it and check it out for sure?

Tonio600 02-Apr-2006 11:59

Because I took the year of manufacture (1992) for the year of first registration (1993), in what case I would have been right as the '92 SS got black wheels and white frame (at least in France  )
