How to use a front paddock stand

Am I missing a trick or don't our bikes like those universal type stands?

No problem with my 996 on a front

carefully - or it slips and take your mudguard or part of it) off!!

one prong on the back of the fork leg, the other underneath and gently lift....

Get a headstock one, far better

dont work that well on some tho, not great on my 848 if fouls the mudguard, and some bikes dont have the hole in the bottom yoke

Tried that, just rotates off and slips onto the caliper
Maybe I will take a couple of pics

hence you have to be careful. I put a little pressure on it as I line up the prongs, they tend to stay there then, but often one side ok the other slightly ff - so I whack in back in line while on the stand

they're a pain on the arse tbh - I'd like to get hold of those ones that fit in the holes at the bottom of the fork legs

The only type I use other than the headstock one if i'm changing forks
Have used the ones with the prongs that locate in the holes at the bottom of the forks on all of my racebikes and still using it to this day in the DD paddock, when swapping wheels for a tyre change. Originally used a Scorpion one but now using the more compact one that they were selling at Assen when we were there for the Ducati Club races

Just like the front one in this auction
