749R fairing infill

Any ideas what would cause this infil to disappear? Looks like it was once bonded to the frame?

Seems I can't get a replacement from Ducati (full nose cone only at 1300++). Anyone seen this?

Not my bike, but one I have looked at recently and this is the main thing putting me off

Yep, unfortunately happened to one of my top fairings too.

There's a carbon piece bonded in there, and it has a little tab that mates with the side fairing. Ham fisted fitting of the fairing results in too much force being applied when the tabs don't line up, causing that piece to snap off! :(

Even on the new fairing, it feels flimsy, so you have to be real careful when fitting the side panels to make sure the tabs link in.

thanks. Seems a shame to let it put me off, but it's just annoying more than anything

If the infill could be replaced individually, even at ridiculous Ducati prices, the bike would be sat in my garage now, but buying a new nose cone is out of the question :(

Yeah it is a shame. Its just that someone hasn't been too careful putting the side fairing back on, thats all.

I ended up buying a new front fairing, but I'm going to have the old one repaired with a fibreglass job (I still have the broken piece!).

Does it matter that much?! Get it at the right price, at he end of the day bikes like his deserve to be ridden as well as looked at. Just get it bought and join us for a cross counties blat....you won't care what it looks like then ;)

+1 Bradders.

Buy it, repair it, then ride it. It's a 749R probably one of the best bikes Bologna ever made.

The best bike :-D

esp with supersport kit....

Better than the 999r?! Rode one of those today at Snells... Wow :o

(Do I need popcorn for this or is it really no contest?)

Today, about midday? You just missed us, Dave started it ready for someone to come have a ride....

Yes, it was for me. I wanted to compare to the 749r while it was still fresh in my mind. Made sure I name dropped you Bradders :D

999r felt much faster, so much so that "it was all over in a few seconds" (stop s******ing at the back) and it felt like there was very little use for all that power on the road. Steering was slower than the 749r, although I guess the 999 could easily be raised at the back to help? Carbon fairings on the 999r were a bonus for bling fans like me :D

The differential between the 749r and 999r in terms of price is small compared to that of the 748r and 998r (ok, maybe not directly comparable given model years etc) so the 999 seems a lot of bike?
