Can a Bip seat be easily fitted to a 749R/999R?

I managed to fit a Bip seat to my old 996R, but can this be easily achieved on a 749R or 999R.

Don't ask me why I want to do it as I take offence easily ;) - but is it a matter of just switching the subframe and seat unit (obviously)?

Or are there other considerations for this? movement of components etc, etc.....

Anyone done this?

Ta muchly
Tim

I think so Tim. But there might be an issue with the baby R. Its fuel tank is larger and I'm not certain if this presents a problem or not.

Subframe and all seatbase bits should swap over ok but remember "R" wheels would not be homologated for biposto use being lighter forged alloy

Arn't the forged lighter wheels stronger than cast wheels?

Probably but look at how thin the spokes are
and they list those wheels in the performance catalogue as mono use only:rolleye:

Yeh I know - I did say don't ask me why!!!

But in the spirit of openess - I need a road bike that I can occasionally take Mrs Rattler out for a spin on. She won't like it and I can quickly change it back, but I need the capability nonetheless!

And it would be a trifle churlish just to keep the ZX10R for such activities.

So as I endeavour to procure a new Ducati I need to be cognisant of such!!! ;)

Bolds your probably right, I've never looked closely at the differences before
