Class B race bike for sale - NOW SOLD 18 months ago I started off with a half built bike and a dream of being a motorbike racer. the winter build went (relatively) well and my plan was to bypass the whole 125/Moto2 route by doing a couple of years of DD and then get signed up by a suitable works MotoGP team. Unfortunately a new job put paid to that by ensuring that I had very little time for racing and even less for testing. So after spending a lot of time and money on it I've managed one race and a track day this year. Perhaps once I find a better job I'll regret selling but at the moment it's taking up valuable space in the garage and the money would be rather useful... This is what you could be racing in class B next year: 750ss frame with blue powdercoat 583cc Monster engine Dynojet kit installed & race air filter 750/900SS ie non adjustable forks rebuilt & set up by MCT suspension 750SSie rear shock again rebuilt & set up by MCT 750ss wheels New wheel bearings Twin wavy disks 2 x 996 Brembo goldline 4 piston calipers 999 front brake & clutch master cylinders Braided hoses New clutch slave cylinder Shorty folding adjustable billet levers 996 Mudguard & 916 race bodywork professionally painted Alloy front subframe with mychron race dash and lap timer Keyless ignition (and fuel filler cap) - one less thing to have to remember! Race alloy clip-ons and rearsets Virtually new chain Lightweight alloy swingarm Lightweight battery R&G crash bungs on frame Avanti racing sump plug (the alloy one with the really useful lock wiring holes in it...) As I haven't had the time to race it there has been plenty of time to work on it. Parkinson Motorcycles in Colchester have spent lots of time helping me prepare and doing all of the engine work. Since I bought it, they have given it a full service with new belts, stripped the cylinder heads and re-shimmed them, fitted new piston rings and set up the timing. They have also most recently fitted the Dynojet kit and tested it on the Dyno. This isn't a crashed road bike that someone has put one the track, it's something that I've built to race. All it needs to get onto the circuit again is a half decent rider and some lockwire to get it through scrutineering. It really is that simple! The price is £1750 - work out how much it would cost you to build this using the handy list above and you'll see that it's a good price. It's going to be a real shame if there isn't anyone racing this next year! |
