Increasing Idle Speed on Track Days

Has anyone found a simple way of increasing the tickover on idle to about 2k so the bike is more fluid on trackdays. I assume the only way is to adjust the screw inside the right side panel. I was looking for a simpler way of doing it and then resetting once I am done for the day.

Chris, I did just that at Snetterton recently and couldn't beleive how much easier Russell's chicane was.

I took mine up to 1,500-1,600 rpm and it did the trick. I was told by Rick Hackett how to do it and it did involve removing the RHS panel. I'm not aware of an easier way.

You might try to use the knurled nut at the throttle assembly on the handle bar. After all, pushing the fast idle button on the back of the throttle does the same thing. Doing so will, however, remove all slack from the throttle, which may not be the best thing. When you put it back, make sure there is some slack on the throttle.

Cheers gents,

looks like a fairing removal job.

Looks like we've had our summer :(
