2003 999 with Termis or should i go for an \"s\"

I've got an ST4S but think I'm going to go for a 999. I've found a 2003 999 with Termi's in mint with 2500 miles for £7000. Should I go for it or try for a 999s? Whats the big difference on the road?

Id go for an S something like mine that happens to be for sale

An S deffo. You can always pick up Termis later on ebay for a reasonable amount where as you almost never see Ohlins and when you do it's always expensive.

An "S" is more than an exhaust and you might want to go a different route than a Termis system anyhow - that's if it's a complete system and not just the back-pipe and end-can.

it's horses for courses, I have a 999S and have ridden 4 999 bis and have to say that I like the grip the ohlins seam to fined, the way the power is made on the 999S is more at the top end, you will change up at 8'000 on a 999 but the 999S makes most power at 10'000. it's great all you need is 3rd and 4rd when you want to get a move on.I love it. and it's worth more when you come to sell it and more desirable,
but the 999 is a little bit more civilised at 3'000 and round town,
but out side of a city I think the S has it quite clearly won.
but try both and make up your own. but beware the feeling of a tuned engine in full song which is fitted to the S can be addictive.

I reckon you should get the best you can afford. If the S is in your price range I'd get that over the bip. You get better quality equipment as standard fit. You get the testastretta engine that's been breathed on mildy as well.

All in all, a much better bike if thats what you want. But also, the resale value of an S will be slightly better than the bip. At the very worst if they're the same price someone will choose the S over a bip.

I would :D

I thought the "S" had the same engine as the 999 but with Ohlins and Marchesini. The "R" has the higher compression engine with Magnesium instead of alloy (except in the wheels) - and carbon fibre + Ohlins.

06 appears to be the same engine & gearing wise:
