clocks problem?

Hi all
Amyone had an issue with the backlight to their clocks flickering. it only happens on idle, otherwise its steady.

Battery voltage was reading 13.4 to 13.6 all day, which from memory is a little low. Its normally low 14s.

any thoughts?

that bad? was wondering if it might be voltage regulator?

A few people have had clocks replaced, but they usually just pack up completely. If the bike is still under warranty, get a local dealer to sort it. Easier than wasting time checking a bunch of stuff yourself.

SOLUTION

was doing some routine maintenance this afternoon and noticed the earth terminal was looking a bit corroded. So tidied it up a bit and my voltage is now back to 14V with the clocks now behaving themselves

hope others find this useful

Nice one - cheers. I'll keep an eye out for that. Where is the earth terminal??? I'm a mechanical numpty...

it was just the earth terminal for the battery, on the battery itself

Thought that's what you meant - cheers :)
