racing a 748? decided im guna have a go at racing this year, but what series do people run 748,s in?.I already have a 748 track bike so dont wana buy anything else just to give it a try! live in the Bristol area . Need to join a club so the series may decide which one? Thoughts please?? |
As far as I know there is very little going that a 748 would be competitive in. In all honesty any 600 in line 4 will leave it for dead. That's why 749R's are now missing from British supersport rounds. Get a Ducati 600 or 620 and come race in a one make series, where the only limiting factor is the Gonad size. |

Good Call Chris ideal for trying your hand at racing if you already have a older trackbike Loads of Ducati knowledge in the paddock and if you decide racing is for you then it will give you a chance to consider your options and have a closer look at Desmo Due, with over 40 registering for this year with a fairly even split between the two races, its competitive racing on easily affordable machines. I last raced at 748 was at Silverstone in 2004 in the NG Roadracings Sound of Thunder Class, the only bike that didn't blow me away that day was the Benelli Tornado that was out there |

You could also enter hottrax motogrande 600 aswell. Take no notice of grandad ghost ;) you would be suprised how competetive the 748 can be against the 600's I think all the popular clubs have some sort of class which would cater for the 748. or just buy a 996 motor. :D |
hottrax looks good let the planning begin |

Nice one, you'll have your hands full with those pesky R6s, having raced both a 748 and a R6 the jap four has the edge unless you have a 748RS and the budget to run it. |
Lookin to finish to start with!!!! A win win will have to wait till my second outing ..lol. ;0) |
