service cost 749R!!!

first service due (600 miles) so i rang jhp, reply "about £250-£350"....no set price.so i rang ducati wolvo.£185+vat (£215)..guess who gets the job?

bazzer sps 13-Oct-2004 13:27

I paid about £270 for the 600mile service at JHP and found out after wards Ducati Wolverhampton were doing the same thing for the price you quoted - that really pi$$ed me off especially noboby told me you have to complete more than 620 miles so the service symbol (spanner) comes on as it cannot be reset until its actually triggered. So guess what on the way home the bloody symbol lit up.I have a choice to go back or wait for the next service.
But for sure i intend to have my R serviced at Wolverhampton in future because a) They are cheaper and b)They are nearer to where i live ,they also offer free collection and delivery service and on top of that Tony is a real nice bloke!

Pedro/Bazzer,

My service cost £80 from Ducati Glasgow as they give you the first service for free, all you pay for is the consumables !

:D

sounds like a bit of bad luck mate,i was told about the spanner light though.

I dont mind paying a bit more to have the best service .JHP would get my vote any day ..

same deal though pete, its a minor service, all we want is the book stamped by a dealer to keep the warranty live.

Ferrari Pete 13-Oct-2004 18:12

Fair point Pete. Will they do you a deal ? I know you have booked it in to Wolverhamton for saturday so its a bit late now !

JPM 13-Oct-2004 18:19

To be honest I'm with FP on this, JHP are pretty much the dogs danglies when it comes to Dukes, what John and Jeff don't know isn't worth knowing.

Saying that I'm sure if you were to point out to them that other Ducati dealers were doing the service for less, I would be sure that they would better the price.

pedro 13-Oct-2004 19:19

bit late now but no i didnt ring jhp back asking as i found they didnt do deals on new bikes(ring any bells pete)?

electricsheep 13-Oct-2004 19:52

I asked about the first service while buying the bike at DLS, they quoted me the full price, but I managed to get them to include it in the deal, so I just paid for the comsumables which was about £80.
