MTS 1200 Crash Bars To day one of my mates dropped his bike whilst parking his foot slipped on leaves. His bike a Triumph Tiger has crash bars and they saved his fairing just a few scratches on the bars. So thinking of fitting them to my MTS 1200s, any one fitted them to theirs? Any suggestions on what make to buy there are a few on the market. Mark |
Hi Mark, you best bet for MTS1200 info/discussion/advice is the Ducati UK forums........ http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f6 |
The original Ducati ones would be the best bet. Yes, they're expensive but they fit very well, with no modification, and look pretty good as well! |
I fitted the Ducati ones to mine. Easy job to fit and they look like they will give the most protection. Best looking to. |
Or should that be 'least ugly' rather than 'best looking'? |

Actually I thought the Ducati ones looked pretty good as they have had some thought put into them along with a (little bit!) of style! |
I looked long and hard at all the options before deciding on the Ducati ones. They do look the most integrated with the rest of the bike. Some of them look horrendous. |
Ok so looked at all the options and agree the Ducati one looks the best so ordered the kit from Moto Rapido. Collected on Saturday only to find it wont fit my 2011 MTS1200S I don't have the top lugs welded to the frame so will have to get a refund.Bummer! I don't like the Motech or Givi one so may look at R&G Crash Bungs instead. Mark |

That's a bit odd?!? I didn't think they would do different frames? |
It seem they added a nut plate welded to the frame mid 2011 although mine is 2011 model the nut plates are not there. Just bought a Givi set of crash bars they state will fit 2010 to 2014 But they also require the nut plate so will not fit so they will be going back as well. Really fed up with this now time to give up on crash bars.... Mark |
