ST4

I'll be needing a new front tyre soon for the ST4. Its currently running MEZ4's front and back. The back one has loads of life in it. Now most people dont appear to like the MEZ4 but as i have nothing to compare them against i would be quite happy to fit a new MEZ4 on the front.
However there are some good deals around at the moment on pairs of tyres so it might be a fgood time to try something different and to see what all the fuss is about!
I dont do trackdays (yet) or ride much in the wet. I do a fair bit of two up riding but i would generally class myself as a medium pace road rider.

Pirelli Diablo.......awesome

Cheers Andy. I'm not sure i'm the kind of rider who can make the most of an awesome tyre though! Like i said, i was impressed with the Mez 4's untill everyone told me they were crap!!
I'd kind of like to pay around £130 for the pair if pos, i dont think Diablos are that cheap just yet.

Battlax!

Either the BT020's if you're an all year rider (there are a few of us around, easy to spot in the wet on the track on Tuesday ;) ) or the BT010's for better grip but less life.

I have an 010 front and 020 rear. Fantastic in all conditions on the road, excellent in the rivers across Lake Esses and Gerrards on Tuesday.

Dunno about mixing different makes Fr/Rr though! May be better off getting another Mez4 Fr and then replace them as a pair when they wear out.

:ninja:

I think I'll go for a pair of whatever i end up with if that makes sense! The back one has loads of tread but is looking a bit square and i can remember the difference a new rear made the last time i had one. A new pair should transfor the bike. I can certainly feel it roll off the flat part of the tyre as i go round a corner. The front is quite worn on the right hand side and it wont be too much longer before its illegal.
Ive heard a lot of good stuff about the 010 and they are cheap at the moment. If i can can get 12 months out of them i'll be happy (about 5000 miles for me) D207's are cheap as well.

Senna3 has just fitted a pair of Macadams to his ST2, cost him £129 the pair from M&P, I use to have these fitted on my Harris Magnum 4 and a friend use to get her knee down on it no problem.

Sounds like they could be the ones to go for then!

I'll re phrase the question though. Are there any tyres (cheap ones, £130 a pair) that i should avoid?

Paul.

Agree with psychlist, 010's, had them on the ST4S and now on the 999.
