Update, I got hold of a pair of standard cans...

Update, I got hold of a pair of standard cans from an 848 Evo for peanuts, and they fit my 1198 perfectly, should I need them.

Not sure if the 1299 is the same as my old 1199, but there was a small black plastic trap door under the passenger seat/hump for the tool kit to squeeze into.

Just measured the length of the ride height...

Just measured the length of the ride height adjuster of my 1198 parked on her sidestand. Measures 170mm centre eye to centre eye. Hope this helps.
