you will do jon, but your measuring the chain tension on its tightest point with load on the bike, so your right in what you say, but that is how you adjust chains.

inline fuse

not sure if its the same on the ducati's but when we fit the datatools at work the inline fuse is normally near the battery, sorry i cant be anymore help
