Bloody awful. I've seen a few in the flesh on older Monsters and they don't look any better than the pics. They just look unfinished and not in keeping with the style of the rest of the bike.

The problem can come from the pin at the lever...

The problem can come from the pin at the lever end being wound out too far. It doesn't allow the fluid to return to the master cylinder reservoir and keeps the pressure in the lines charged.
