I'd suspect that the front brake microswitch...

I'd suspect that the front brake microswitch (under the master cylinder) is sticking, give it a clean with some switch cleaner or WD40.......I've had an SS that did the same thing come MOT time!

There's a place in Bradford called UK Suspension which fits hardened inserts with taper roller bearings for around the £30-40 mark.....I had an SS shock done there and it was a good job!
