Mine do the same thing, and seem worse in the wet (or after rain).
On slow speed in the damp, the shake is pretty irritating, and makes the whole front end shudder. Maybe it's the head bearing?

I intend to sort out some of my sprung weight first - ie the spare tyre I carry with me at all times around my waist.

Weight saving = 1stone
Cost saving = 100 pints = 300 quid
