all sorted now - managed to locate and purchase a new reverse pattern, control lever with adjustable microswitch from the guys at BikeSports Developments - £500 cheaper than a new fancy, strain gauge...

there are differences between the "gold-line" calipers and the P4 (4 padd'ers) - i.e larger swept area etc etc

The R's are the main culprits here - as well as a 15mm offset (instead of 10mm) they...

this is NOT a good idea as it only has one cable - the 749/999 has two - open and close is controlled by the cable and not by the return spring!

I had a leak on my old bike - turned out to be a copper washer on one of the fittings - a 2 minute job and an easy fix.

748 SPS used to weap a little oil from that rear gasket - we managed to (in situ) lift the rear cylinder slightly and seal it with some liquid gasket stuff - never leaked again!
