Just some thoughts:

1) Bad battery.
2) Broken fuel line in tank or pinched outside line.
3) Tank ventilation, try with gas lid open, beware of fuel spill.

748R Frame and Testastretta motor ?

Hi I read this somewhere about a 748R frame:

I thought that the testastretta has 12mm framebolts instead of "old" 10 mm.

So does the 998 engine fit without modification to the frame?

Difference pistons 748R vs 748RS

Anyone know the difference, if any, between 748R and 748RS pistons ?

Higher compression? Could there be a clearance problem with 748R heads and cams?

Cheers,
/Uffe

More stupid suggestions:
Checked the solenoid plug?
Checked the starter lead and connection to starter motor. Rubber thingy collects water and connections gets oxidized and corroded.
