From what I can see Ducati only supplied a unpainted seat for the 748 Bi posto in that year (should end in 3A), so I think...

From the evidence so far, I conclude that Ducati used to re spray red panels yellow (cheapskates) but not on the later bikes, well not on my yellow 998s panels anyway.
