Screw a grub screw into the crankcase oil feed and you won't need to worry about the seal. Size is 4mm, if I remember correctly.

I WAS dreaming of an SPS spec ST4S engine until I saw the way the swing-arm mounts on an S4RS engine. Easy 130 bhp, but probably a lot more than UKP950 for a while yet. Nice to dream isn't it?

When you set the belt tension using the gauge with the engine cold it feels "pretty slack", but when you set the tension for valve timing, it simulates the hot tension, and it feels "awfully tight"....

The 851, 888, 916, 996 and pre 2002 748 use the same belts.
I don't know of an alternative to the belt tensioner, but you can buy it cheaper than Ducati sells it.
