Have had the caliper off and cleaned and re greased it (in the right places) working fine but the noise is still there.

Back wheel knock

Gang.
Sometimes when I pull away or change into second I get a bit of a knock/clunk from the back end, can feel it too. Pretty certain its in the back wheel.

Tonight laying under the bike in case...

Showa Fork Strip Down - Any tips?

Gang.

Day off work tomorrow which I intend to use to drop forks out of the 748, strip, replace seals, bushes oil(!) etc.

Made up tools to compress spring and hold damper tube to remove top...

Heard of them, they did stuff for the recent Laverdas (eight years ago!) I've heard they're part of marzocchi but don't know if they're any good.

Noise at rear wheel

Recently started getting a 'clunk' or 'crack' noise at the rear wheel on pulling away, just about the time I've finished with the clutch.

Any ideas?

Foot Pegs / Rear Sets

Anyone know the best way to deal with the slippery foot pegs on my 748 (no not covered in oil) slippery as soon as wet.

Have though rear sets etc, but wondered if anyone had fitted pegs from any...

Bit of an oil leak - 748

Touch of advice/help may be needed here.

I have an oil leak which when the bikes been on the side stand for a few hours is enough for a couple of drops to have found their way onto the bottom pipe...

Adjusting that chain

Just taken a look at the chain adjustment on my 748 bip for the first time (not had it that long).

Followed the instructions in the holy manuals but found that whichever way I rotate the bearing...
