so, all of the above - bike went back in and this problem turned out to be a chunk of carbon fouling the top cylinder plug.
Snow/rain/crap weather in general so hadn't tried the bike since it came... |

No work done recently and I'll check the fuel filter although it's only ever had fancy schmansy Shell in it so I'll be a tad miffed that my extra pennies were wasted!
